Following a very sucessful reply to my posting I am now appealing for any information on William Coates & Co wine merchants, Whitechapel area c 1872.
I have followed up the records held at Guildhall library but are not those I seek.

In addition to 25 Whitechapel High St, see also 18 Adam Street, Adelphi. The Whitechapel branch appears to have opened in about 1820.
