I am researching the Mills and Eaton family of Staffordshire.

John Eaton B. 1839 married Cecily ?
Alice Eaton (daughter of above) married Roland Mills (son of Thomas Mills and Mary ?)

Anyone have any links with these families?

This looks as if it may be John's marriage registration according to FreeBMD:

March qtr 1862 at Stoke on Trent reg district, vol 6b, page 209 for a John EATON and one of the other names on the page is that of a Sicely HUGHES. This will give you the name & occupation of the father of both bride and groom which should confirm the following:

There is an extracted baptismal record on the IGI at Leigh of a Cicily HUGHES on 14 May 1843, father John mother Mary which fits in very well with the 1871 census information for Cecily EATON. There are also records on the IGI for 3 siblings of Cecily.

There is an extracted baptismal record on the IGI at Milwich of a John EATON on 19 May 1839, father Anthony mother Anne and what could be the baptisms for 10 siblings of John, including a sister Alice.

There is a marriage registration on FreeBMD at Stone in the June qtr 1861, vol 6b, page 77 of a Thomas MILLS and one of the other names on the page is that of a Mary COOPER which could be relevant to you.

Hello Sally- My Great Grandfather is Thomas Roland Mills-sister to Florrie Mills-Thomas married Florence Williams. My Grandma was Barbara Mills.

My great grandmother, Mary Eaton, appears to be the older sister of Alice Eaton.

I have found 8 children born to John and Cicely.

Nice to hear from you. The EATON/MILLS family search is quite recent for me. I have Mary as part of my tree, but the only other info I have about her - I think, is a son called William. I don't have a Husband and I'm not even sure if William is correct. Maybe you could confirm it for me.
As you can probably tell, Cfairy and I are connected through Alice EATON and Roland MILLS. They moved from Milwich to Audlem around 1908. If I am able to help with anything just ask, and I will see what I can offer.

Hi Sally

Mary Eaton was born circa 1865 in Leigh, Staffordshire. As far as I can ascertain she did not marry but had 2 children:-

Mary Alice Eaton born circa 1892

William Charles Eaton, born 17th April 1900 in Fradwell, Staffordshire.

At the 1901 census they were living at 36 Fradswell, Colwich, Staffs.

William married Norah Evans (nee Strange) in 1921 (October - December). They had 5 children. William died in August 1972.

Thanks for filling in the gap with Mary & Co. There seem to be alot of Eaton's in the Stone area. Were Mary's family still based around the same area or did they move on like Alice and Roland?
If you would like, you can send me a PM. I am still in regular contact with Cfairy. She has done quite alot of searching and is very interested in the family, as she didn't know a great deal about them before.
