John Green born 1779 [baptised 27 April 1779]in Wellingborough married 17 October 1818 in St. Paul's, Bedford, to Ann Rowney [born 17 Oct 1808].
John also had a brother Thomas born 1782.
I am looking for the parents of John & Thomas green.

There are various member submitted baptisms for both John, 27 April 1779 & Thomas, 30 December 1782, GREEN on the IGI (so should be treated with caution) and these give both their parents as either William Richard/William or Richard GREEN and Hannah ELSE or Hannah Else HARDWICK. However, there is some corroborative evidence in that there is a marriage on the Northamptonshire Marriage Index 1700-1837 of a William GREEN, widower & Hannah HARDWICK, widow at Wellingborough on 31 May 1778.

There is also a marriage on the Index at Wellingborough on 19 May 1803, by licence, of a Thomas GREEN, of the parish, bachelor and a Jane TEMPLEMAN, of the parish, spinster, which could be relevant to you.

The only real way to check if these are the correct parents for your Thomas & John, is to search through the parish registers of Wellingborough, I'm afraid.

Thank you Janet for such a speedy reply.
Forgive the next query please . Are the parish registers of Wellingborough freely available on the internet?
Jean.

Hello again Jean,

I believe Northamptonshire Record Office have a Shop which sells microfiche of parish records but from my memory of it, admittedly quite some time ago, the prices were a bit steep as you have to buy them in date ranges. Have a look at their website and see what they cost now. The other way is to hire the appropriate microfilm from your nearest LDS Family History Centre (you can find that out by searching on the Home page of Family Search website) and view it in situ.
