Is there any kind person who could find a marriage for me please. It’s between Isabell(a) Bottoms and (?) Williams. Possibly in Luzerne Pa. and about 1880/1900’s. Isabell was born in Durham UK and the Williams were originally a Welsh family. Sorry I don’t have any other information.

Unfortunately that's not a lot to go on, but came up with the following:

From Family Search: A marriage in 1902 (?) for an Isabelle Bottoms, b. Durham, England, parents Thomas of Yks and Mary, in Luzerne Cty, PA

Also, from An*****y: a passport application which has a photo. Isabelle Williams of Throop PA, b 15 Dec 1860, Kettleworth, Durham, England, passport date of 8 Mar 1921, spouse William Williams, born (looks like) Vaworth, England, she makes her mark - going back to England to visit friends.

If either sounds good (or you want to see the passport) drop me a pm.

Hi! Got your message and will send along the link for the passport. Hope it's of use to you.

Will include info in message line from beachbaby

Oh yeah, when you view it remember to look at the next page, it has 2 pages and starts on the right. The person on the left is not Isabelle.

Many thanks - got the passport. Unfortunately it isn't 'my' Isabell. However.... I've discovered my local library lets us senile delinquents use A***** for an hours free access and I've found her passport - issued 12 May 1924 in Washington - she's a widow (spouse James Elisha Williams) and daughter of Thomas and Mary Bottoms. Now all I have to find is when she married, children and James' death.
Thanks again.

Oh well, you can't have everything - where would you put it?

Sorry the passport wasn't the right one - half the time it isn't but I always follow up on leads, you never know. Very cool that you found the right one - hope it had a photo. I found my grandmother and uncle in the 20s coming from Italy and the picture was wonderful - so much better than the posed ones you see generally.

If you have An**** questions let me know and I'll look things up for you - I have world subscription, at least for the moment. I will take the info you just found and see if I can come up with something else (probably wrong, but what the hey!).

Have a good day - must go shovel again!

Hi!

Looked at your passport info for Isabella. I have found a ton of info on James and Isabella and their family, and it does list several children and a marriage date (noted on her passport the name Evan Williams, and one of my "children" is an Evan who married Sarah). Unfortunately the dates don't agree. These are the only James and Isabella that I was able to find and they were born in Wales in the 1840s, came to the US in the 1860s to PA and he was a coal miner. Any chance she lied about her age?

If you are interested in the information, and I do have quite a bit, let me know and I will send it off, or I can set up a "tree" and let you see it for yourself. I will need you to pm me an email address for that.

Don't know what to say - I bookmarked all this stuff and have several sheets covered with hen scratch notes.

Hope I can help! As I say, I only came across one "James & Isabelle".
