Dear All
I'm new to BG (registered today) but would be grateful for any help or information anyone can offer on the following subject.
I have today received a copy of my Great Grandfather's first wife's death certificate from BISHOP AUCKLAND, County Durham May 1905. It would appear that she was "killed by a bullet from a rifle discharged by James Garrigan, since deceased. Wilful Murder." The death certificate is only dated 3 days after the date of death but is from a certificate received from the Coroner for Darlington ward, inquest held 10th May 1905. I have read on a previous thread that it would appear that Coroners' records aren't held for very long. If this is the case, does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should start trying to find out more about this incident?
(Ironically, it would appear that my Great Grandfather's second wife (my Great Grandmother) had a very good friend called Mrs Garrigan!)
Thank you in advance for any help or assistance anyone can offer. As
Sarah
