Whilst looking at my family tree so far, with my sister and her husband last night, we noticed that one of our ancestors came from Chaddesden, Derby, where my brother in law's family originate. Eager to follow this coincidental line, I discovered he (my ancestor) was listed on the 1851 census as residing in/at Chaddesden Moor and despite looking at several old maps we can't find such a place. Can anyone pin point this area please?
Thanks

On a modern map, north east of Chaddesden on Morley Road, Moor Farm is marked.

PS Using the above as a guide, you'll find Chaddesden Moor clearly marked on

Whilst searching, you crept up and beat me to it Peter! ;)

Originally I looked at Genuki, as they mention several moors around Chaddesden. Sinfin Moor, Morley Moor, and Boulton Moor, all within 3-4 miles of Chaddesden.
