Joseph Dickenson 4xGt Grandad

I am trying to find info re:Joseph Dickenson c 1788 who I believe came from Cheshire.

The most details I have are of his son Miles b.1824-1896 Tarporley.He & all of his sons were in the Primitive Methodist Movement.Miles was a Minister & his sons were lay preachers.

I have quite a bit of info about Miles & family but I cannot get any further back.

What I do have is that his parents are possibly Joseph Dickenson b.Over,Cheshire c.1788 & Martha Lydiatt.I cannot send for certs as they don't always get to me in Spain due to poor postal system.Too expensive to take chances.

Is there anyone who can look this info up for me.

On the 1841c Miles was on the 1841c - H0107/96/24/11/17 @ Over,Cheshire listed as a servant.

I have absolutely nothing on his parents & can go no further.

Unfortunately it doesn't appear to list the parents of Joseph and Martha. But again you can get the film and look for clues!

Hi, the Familysearchpilot has a baptism in Tarporley (Bishops Transcripts) of Joseph Dickenson 24 August 1788, parents Samuel and Sarah,also a possible baptism for Samuel in 1736.

The IGI shows the christening of Joseph DICKINSON on 04 May 1788, St. Chad, Over, Cheshire, to father John.

A search of the Batch number P010891 lists nine other christenings to John DICKINSON or DICKENSON, 1786 to 1806. Some give a mother's name, Catherine.

This is extracted from Parish Register (not submitted by someone from their own research).
