A well documented Ayrshire family which can be traced back to Malcolme Whitefoord marrying Janet Orr on 11th Feb 1703 in Kilbirnie. Does anyone have any information regarding Malcolme's birth around 1680?
ScotlandPeople website has other Whiteford families before this date but no mention of Malcolme.
As an aside how is Mairowne pronounced? |help|

Yes.
The SGS's Services of Heirs in Scotland 1700-1749 has 2 Whitfoords, both probably the same person but not Kilbirnie but it sounds as though you're collecting mentions:
Adam W of Blairquhan to his Uncle John W. of Blairquhan who died Feb 1701; to his father James W. of Dunduff dated 16 Oct 1701
The SGS's Retours of Services of Heirs 1544-1699
Before 1700, the name is indexed as Whytefuird and (their standard) Quhytefuird ("Quh" is the old scots "W")
There's a couple of early ones:
1605 David Q heir to David Q in Ballach, his father, inherited land in Dwochty & Garelffin
1620 Joannes Q in Balloche, heir to David Q his brother, land in Dallamfuird.
I hope that you can fit them in somewhere!

Scotlandspeople's Wills and Testaments throw up 84 entries for varieties of Whiteford, I'll have a wade through them for any that fit my particular line. Thanks for the pointer Lesley. :)
Is Scheveningen Radio PCH still working ? Used to work for their equivalent in the UK.
