Hi
Could anyone please help me, I am trying to find any birth records, parish records of my g-g-grandfather he was James Magarahan born 1859 according to census dates his father was Michael, I have found who I think is father one Michael Magarahan getting married Drunlane County Caven in 1858 has anyone access to baptisms to see if a James was christened there
any help would be most appreciated

Peanut, you don't say where you are from but you need to get the marriage cert of James Magarahan. Have you checked freebmd.org.uk or is this entirely Irish? BMD can be ordered from www.groireland.ie and you can search th 1901-1911 census online http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/. I don't know if County Cavan is there but have a look.

I have James marriage certificate this also confirms date of birth as 1859 father Michael, James was born Ireland I have him on all the census up to his death, the only match, Michael his father married Drunlane County Caven in 1858 but i need to find James christened to be sure i have the right father

Have you tried Irish Family History Foundation? It's commercial so I can't give the website - just google them. You can search indexes for free, but viewing a record costs 5Euro, I think. I've found the site useful, albeit for Cork records.

Yes i have been on the site its the best i have been on for Ireland but i just cant find my James on there, i found who i am sure is his father but untill i can find James birth i cant say for sure he is the right father
