Am I the only person having difficulty reading mail at hotmail? It takes ages to get in and when I do there are times when I can't get as far as opening the inbox. On the rare occasion it opens and I make the mistake of wanting to read a message it can take anything up to 10 minutes - I wnet and made a sandwich while I was waiting - to show me the message and if I then try to delete it or move to the next message it just freezes up and does nothing. I thought it was my puter but I am forced to use IE and you would expect microsoft programs to be compatible wouldn't you? or is that just too much to hope for.
I am shrieking in frustration here cos I would like to emply the mailbox but I can't

I use Hotmail as a back-up for mail, when AOL sometimes blocks mail getting through to me as spam. I check it daily, in case some of my friends have had problems and sent it there, but haven't had the sort of problems you are getting. Sometimes I have hit the wrong button and have had to go back to the in-box, which is a pain, but it only takes a few seconds. I'm on dial-up so sometimes the connection is slow and even AOL takes a while to open mail at the beginning on occasions. I usually log off and log in again and usually get a better connection.
I will be interested to hear if others have your problem. Hope it is soon resolved for you Ann, it can be so frustrating.

Ann, I should have checked first! |banghead| I have just tried to log into Hotmail, and it had a large notice saying that `connection had failed try again later'. `Could be too many people are trying to login' !!!
They have been doing a lot of upgrading lately, haven't they, so possible that they've encountered problems along the way. I did get in....but the page wouldn't load, so as I didn't fancy making a cup of tea (just had one) I decided to give it up as a bad job!!
Must be something wrong with their server.
Glenys.

Hi
I use Hotmail and it seems to be ok on broadband but it can get slow at certain times of the day.
I did have a problem recently and it turned out to be a conflict with MSN Messenger. I deleted messenger and reloaded it & things improved greatly. Are you running messenger?

I don't use messenger and didn't have it but my son who is staying here for a while does use it and I believe he has put the latest version on so I'll give him hell when he gets home tomorrow. It might not be that but what the heck. Thanks for the idea
Ann
