Can anyone help with this one?
I have Ann Thornley born Loughborough District about 1843 or 1844. There is an entry on Free BMD as follows:
Name: Ann Thornley
Year of Registration: 1845
Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar
District: Loughborough
County: Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire
Volume: 15
Page: 151
Before I send for birth certificate - can anyone fit her into a family?
Is there any possibility that she is the daughter of William Thornley 1816 Shepshed and Martha Gutteridge 1815 Shepshed who married Sep 20 1838 Shepshed?

Can anyone find her in 1851 or later censuses?

Thanks in anticipation

Hi
the only Ann Thornley with Father William and Mother Martha are living in Cumberworth, Yorkshire on the 1851 Census Class: HO107; Piece: 2293; Folio: 538; Page: 4; although it hasn't got where they were born on the original. William works in a Warehouse Fancy goods. Ann was born abt 1839.
Could this be them

Hi
I have been having a look again for your Ann.
A search on FreeBMD of "All Types" of the name Thornley from Sept qtr 1837 to 1850, they also has a Marriage for a Alpheus Thornley 1844, not sure who to as their are 4 males and 4 females, there is a possibility that this could be Ann's Father, although a search for him on Ancestry only gives the same marriage from FreeBMD there are no Census entry's coming up for him and no Death on either site for him.

Sandy

Just had another thought Looked on "Family Search" for marriage of Alpheus its to Eliza Cooper on the 22 Oct 1844 at All Saints, Loughborough.

Many thanks Sandy but I don't think we have her yet!
It looks as though I need to het the birth certificate, but even if this does show her to be the child of William Thornley and Martha Gutteridge it still leaves the mystery of what happened to them all.
Thanks for spending time on this one.
