Could anyone help please.

My G. Grandfather was born in 1835, Gateshead. His parents were;Thomas Walton and Jane Thomas. He may have had a brother, Thomas. I am searching for an address.
Any help much appreciated.
Regards
Terry

Hi, you could always have a look at the Durham Look-up Exchange

http://www.redmire.net/lookup/dur.html

I see that there is an index for the Gateshead 1851 Census. Someone there may be able to find him for you. Kind regards.

Terry - I have an index for the 1851 census of Gateshead and there is no Samuel Walton recorded there. There is a family headed by Thomas (aged 48, a mariner) and Mary Walton (47) with 7 children, including a Thomas (22) but not Samuel. They lived in Pipewellgate. I don't think this is your family from the information you have given, however. Is it possible Samuel had left home to look for work? He would have been 15 or 16 at the time? Do you have a transcript of the Parish Register showing Samuel's birth? If so, what was his father message=Terry - I have an index for the 1851 census of Gateshead and there is no Samuel Walton recorded there. Thanks Gordon,
Samuel walton was married in Sunderland in 1857. His occupation was glassmaker. His father was Thomas Walton, wife Jane, he also was a glass maker. Samuels address at marriage date was 20 Hendon Road. His wife, Amelia Moffet was living at 35 Durham St. (both Sunderland)

Kind regards
Terry
