Hello. I would be extremely grateful if someone could tell me if my family emigrated to canada after 1867. They appear on all census records from 1841-1861 but then disappear.

A cousin of mine seems to recall that they the family went to Canada.

The people in question are Charles Coote, a printer, born 1821, sons William, James, Edward.

Many thanks in advance for anyone that replies

Hello,

I checked the Canadian census records, but I couldn't find the Cootes that you are looking for. When I was checking the records for my own family, I could find them on every single England census except 1871. It seems they had disappeared! I am researching the Kitchen family, and I did end up finding them on the 1871 census (after hours of searching) under the surname of "Witchen." Have you checked all types of spelling? I am sorry I could not help you out with any info, and I am quite certain that I didn't miss them on the census records here in Canada. If you need anything else looked up, please let me know, and I would be more than happy to assist you:)
