As I can go no further back at the moment with my Jarvis line, I am trying to come forward as far as I am able, starting with Gt. Uncle Edward.
Edward Jarvis b. 1876 in Chelsea, was a son of Alfred Strong Jarvis and Elizabeth Jones, and was a Mariner. I found him in Poole, Dorset on the 1901 Census with wife Susan Elizabeth (married 2.4.1899) and daughter Susan Elizabeth. Further searching through the BMDs reveals what I `think' are further children:
Sept. Qtr. 1901 Winifred Jarvis 5a 233 Poole, Dorset
Sept. Qtr. 1902 Vera Evelyn Jarvis 5a 235 Poole, Dorset
June. Qtr. 1903 Emma Jarvis 5a 242 Poole, Dorset.
A search through the deaths, reveals that mother Susan died June Qtr. 1903 aged 24, so obviously following the birth.
Edward Jarvis dies in Poole, Sept. Qtr. 1912 aged 36.
Susan's father was Henry Peter Craven Clarke (deceased) at time of Edward & Susan's marriage in 1899.
I should be most interested to hear from anyone who recognises these names, as I am hoping to turn up a few cousins. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a male line (unless Edward subsequently married again) but I am interested nevertheless.
Edward had two brothers, Alfred (my direct line) and William born 1885, who has been difficult to trace in London!
