Hello Margaret,
What sort of time-frame are we looking at here? Have you had a browse of Historical Directories (http://www.historicaldirectories.org/hd/)?

Hello Margaret,
Not sure what sort of info you are looking for, but I found reference to where they were based in Macclesfield on this site. There's quite a lot of information on the area, and you have to go quite a way down to find the mention.

Hi daftbat. I'm trying to find out which particular Corbishleys owned these companies. I know it was a Hugh who owned the silk mills in the early 19th century but there are several of them. Don't know which ones owned the garages which are still in existence - I think- on Jordangate if i remember correctly but my grandmother(a Corbishley) said we were not related to them. The Corbishley family is very large and intermarried so it is likely there is a link somewhere down the line. Have looked at some directories in the past but not recently. Thanks for your suggestion.
