There is a passing reference to the college here (http://www.infed.org/thinkers/et-mason.htm) which states that:
The Home and Colonial School Society, established by Elizabeth Mayo and her brother Charles Mayo in 1836, was the first school in England devoted to advancing the methods of Swiss educational reformer Johann Pestalozzi.
The article is about someone else being trained there.
If you throw "Home and Colonial School Society" (with the ") into your search engine, you should get a number of hits.
