the brigadier used to vist my grandfathers home on a regular basis circa 1930's . we belive that my grandfather may well have been his batman during ww1 or up to 1926 ,.
can anyone help with a profile of the brigadier we think his intials were RH or RW .

did he aslo serve in ww2 ?

my grandfathers name was ernest george coles ,he served in the devonshire regiment during ww1 ,we have the details of his service etc but we know he was in ww2 but have no knowledge of who, what ,where .
a recently discovered aunt has given us the information on the visits by the brigadier .

Just looking at a list of names for the annual reunion of the staff college club at Camberley, members of the club present included a Brig Gen R H Hare and a Brig Gen R W Hare. This was in 1931.

Sounds like you need to get hold of his WW2 service record
http://www.veterans-uk.info/service_records/service_records.html

and also check the Brigadier in the Army Lists

Brig Gen R W Hare seemed to be a Norwich man and was associated with the Norfolk Regiments. He died late 1953/early 1954.
