My 4x Great Grandfather worked there abt 1775. It is still standing and i went to visit it although it is used more for functions. It is in North St Stokes Croft.
He paid his admission as a burgess.
He also worked at the Ship St James St.
His name was Simon Shilstone and would like to find out more info on any other pubs he worked for or even the ones mentioned.
Some of the information i am told comes from poll books or voter's lists. How do i find these?
Thanks for taking the time to look at my message

Hi Jenny,

My parents in later life used to live just opposite, and we used to go there for lunch.

Not sure if you have already googled ........... but if you enter : "Simon Shilstone" bristol Uk only , you get four results and his name is in all them.

Hope this is helpful

Hello, there is a potted history of the Full Moon here www.bspri.org.uk/BSPRI/07R_Full_Moon.html I used to work just by it and enjoyed cheesy chips for lunch on many an occasion !
