RENKIN of Workington

John RANKEN/RENKIN, Weaver, born in Govan, Scotland, marr. Jane WILSON of Workington, at St Bees in 1789. Their eleven children all born Workington between 1790 & 1813. My 3xg. grandfather Robert RENKIN b.1809 marr. Mary ALLINSON b.1810 Bridekirk, at Bridekirk on 26 Jul 1829. Their eldest son, John b.1830 followed his father as a Shipwright. John marr. Elizabeth LITTLE b.1830 at St Bees, on 20 Nov 1851 at St John's Ch. Workington. Elizabeth died 1853, & John & his father Robert emigrated separately to Victoria, Australia & took part in the Victorian Gold Rush of the 1850's.
