Doris V. Tomkinson m William Powell 1937 Crewe vol 8a p 748 4Q
William Henry Powell died 1972 Crewe vol 10a p 557 3Q birthdate given 10 Aug 1911
Doris Powell died 1963 Crewe vol 10a p 230 3Q age at death 65 (so birth date would be 1898)
Order the marriage cert first to confirm ages and full names. It is possible that he married a woman 13 yrs older.
Order his death cert. It will state who his wife was at the time of death, also his address.
Certs can be ordered from GRO and cost £7 each.

Just saw this post Mandi and answered via another post. I didn't know the story behind the Powell/Tomkinson bit.
It is best to keep all one post to avoid overlapping and confusion with responses.

Agreed, so to keep everything simple, I have merged the two threads, and put them in the Cheshire forum, as it's most appropriate.
