HI locals. I am about to ask for some inform. Will tell my story and see what happens from there. The fellow in question is a ancestor of mine a William Richards brn 1766. mar. to Hannah Ann ? brn1766. On the 1841 census it states he is a Lic. Publican, it has been suggest that he may have ran The Swan in Stream Rd., Kingswinford.a place near Brierey Hill where his last child was brn Mary Ann [my direct ancestor]. On the Pigot site Retailers of Beer I also find a Joseph Richards, New at.... and John
Richards, Brierley Hill.. Williams two eldest sons carried the same names so at this point I'm claiming them as kin[only for the time being]. Would like find some history on the hotel. If it still stands and with abit of luck might be able to find some records that goes back to those days . The hotel may have been an old coaching Inn. Would be great to have any inform. Thanks for any help.. Have a happy day to those who reads this. Cheers, Trish.

Hi Trish, The Swan is Stream Road, Kingswinford is still there. Here's a couple of links, one with picture and another with a map you can zoom in on.

By the way, me and my cousins used to play on the grass outside the Swan when we were kids (about 35 years ago), whilst the parents were inside having a few jars.

Cheers
Julie

|Hi Julie :).Sorry to getting back to you so late But I've had trouble with the computer, back on track now, been away and didn't get back to doing the history for ages. Thanks for the Inform. so thrilled to see the hotel, I wonder what it really looked like back in the early 1800's. Will send a letter to the "The Swan" asking if they have any history about place back then. Once agian thanks. Cheers, Trish|wave|
