Greetings
If you are researching in or around the Malvern Hills area you may like to look at my online postcard collection, with images of over 70 churches and 170 general views, all from the Victorian/Edwardian era.

Let me know if there's a particular view that's not shown. I have over 2000 cards in my collection and am not able to put them all online, though many more cards will be added in the coming weeks.

hi... I wonder if you have any other views of Holywell in Malvern. My dad lived there when he was a boy, during the 1940's. His father worked for Mr Cuff as a gardener/chauffer. They lived in the house next to the bottling factory shown in your postcard #506462. You can just see the house to the right of the picture. He and his sister used to hire glasses to the tourists who came to drink the water at the well round the back. He loved looking at your postcards when he stayed with me recently.... regards wendy

Hi Wendy
I have two other cards which show your father's house and will email them to you direct. I'm sure your father's recollections of his time at the Holy Well would be of great interest to Cora Weaver, who has written several books about Malvern and two especially on the springs and wells. Do you know of her?
If not I can put you in touch.

Wendy ... NO EMAIL ADDRESS IN YOUR PROFILE .... contact me via mine and I'll send you the scans.

I have just tried to reply to you. But I put in too many :D I think.
Well I am really crying with laughter and I thank you very much.
After I had a look at all the lovely photos of the churches I clicked on home at the bottom. Then clicked Favorite.
There I found some lovely photos of Cyril, who looks a bit like a hermit crab? Also Batman attacks Jessie? Some amazing photos of Scafell.
Made my night though and my beer hasn't been spiked! LOL.
ROFLM*O
I hope that is allowed

Jo I tried to copy your experience and while I could see Roger's albums - I wish I had a connection to Malvern - I could not duplicate the rest of your journey through pictures of cyril.so we might never know what you saw LOL

I cannot claim responsibility for Cyril, Batman or hermit crabs ..... but as you have found out Grove Street is a wonderful place for browsing other people's photo albums. I like it because it's FREE and allows me to upload scans of my postcards in bulk. You can choose whether to allow "public" viewing like my Malvern cards, or have them password protected.

Hello
I joined this site last night and have come across this section today. I was born and grew up in Malvern and my mum still lives there, (she will be 90 in Sept)! It is a beautiful part of the country and we love returning as frequently as we can.
The reason I thought I would contact you is that my maternal grandfather was a photographer in Malvern and several of his photos were turned into postcards and wondered if you had any of them - as I can't see that detail on your website. His name was Clement Walton.
Over the last few years various books have been written about Malvern and personalities from the town - grandad has been researched quite widely by these respective authors and gradually more and more of grandad's photos are turning up.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Jenny,
I don't have many Clem Walton postcards, but as you say there are several books on Malvern which include his work. The most recent and probably the one which carries more of his photos than any other is "The Malverns" by Brian Iles, a local historian and postcard collector. Clem's photos also appear in Keith Smith's postcard books.

You are not the first descendant of a Malvern photographer to contact me. Joyce Head, daughter of C Grosvenor saw my online collection and asked me if I had any of her father's photos or postcards.

If you want scans of any that I have or scans of those I can find in my books, please send me an email to ziksby@gmail.com

Best regards
