I am trying to find the coat of arms and crest for the Adcock's from Leicester shire. My settler ancestor was born in Leicestershire(Melton Mowbray) in 1779.I'd be most grateful as there seem to be so many variations of the basic coat of arms and fox crest.

Originally, Coat of Arms were only given to an individual or family and then inherited, and not a natural right of everyone with that surname.
If someone in your family had inherited the right, then you would find documentation and the specific description details and you would know about it from family lore.
It doesn't really matter which version you settle on from what is available commercially, pick one you like. It will look great on the family history report or on a wall, no matter the original purpose. The variations are probably due to the requirement of some minor change in appearance that sometimes had to be made when it passed from father to son (or daughter if no sons)
