I am tracing these families in Swindon area of North Wiltshire. I belong to the Woolford One Name Study, and am trying to sort out the Hinders with Les Hinder in Swindon. My Osbornes go back to Samuel Osborne who married Sophia Keene in 1833 in Purton, Wilts. Is anyone else interested in these people? Tony
Can you tell me about the Woolford one name study as i have Wilts woolfords in my tree and would like to know more about them

Hi Tony
I am interested in the Woolford name. My great grandmother was Lucy Woolford. The family seems to be centered mainly in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Wiltshire. Is this of interest?

Hi Lucy,
My Woolfords are mainly from North Wiltshire, but there is a branch based in Ramsbury which is very near the Berkshire border. I have no doubt that they are related to the Berkshire Woolfords.

I have a very large Woolford branch on my tree which I would be willing to share with you. Please email me directly; then we will be able to exchange information directly.
Cheerio from a distant cousin (very probably) in Edmonton, Canada.

I have a grandfather Harold Osborne born late 19th c in Swindon. Not sure if the family is from Wilts but more so Gloucestershire. I wonder if you have any other Osborne links?
Thanks,
Sheila
