HOPKINS family, Banbury

[David Hankey]

I am tracing JOSHUA HOPKINS b 1834 d 1869, he was builder, and his son ARTHUR DAN HOPKINS b 1858 d 1914, plasterer and beerhouse keeper.

JOSHUA married a lady called ANN (maiden name not known) in 1855 and between them had seven children:-

ELLEN M. b 1856, ARTHUR DAN b 1858, ANNIE b 1861, SARAH KATHERINE b 1863, THOMAS b 1865, JOHN b 1867 and MARY J. b 1870. They were all born in Banbury apart from ELLEN M. who was born at Finmere, Brackley.

ARTHUR moved to Birmingham soon after the death of JOSHUA, around 1870.

My grandmother FLORENCE HOPKINS b 1888 was Arthur's only child.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I live in Banbury
It is no longer a church but the building remains, It has been used as a shop, but at the moment is empty.
I will have a look in the Parish Records next time I go to the Library for Marriage & Christenings for Joshua & his Children
