Hi - I am seeking any information on the BLAGDEN family who are showing on the 1881 census as living at 3 Oak Yard, Bakewell. The names of interest are:
GEORGE (head) age 61
ANN (wife) age 54
and their children Ann, Grace, Elizabeth, Fanny, George, William
Ann's father was Samuel Wragg, but I am stuck for any other info.
I would be very interested if anyone knows anything of the area around Oak Yard as I cannot find it on the map I have.

...Ann's father was Samuel Wragg, but I am stuck for any other info...Anne,
Perhaps this is Ann's parents and brothers in the 1871 census, also in Bakewell, on Butts Road:
Name / Age / Birthplace / Relationship / Occupation
Samuel Wragg 81 Bakewell, Derbyshire, England Head General Labourer
Fanny Wragg 70 Bakewell, Derbyshire, England Wife
William Wragg 28 Bakewell, Derbyshire, England Son General Labourer
Joseph Wragg 24 Bakewell, Derbyshire, England Son General Labourer
Source information: RG10/3625
Registration district: Bakewell
Sub-registration district: Bakewell
ED, institution, or vessel: 3
Folio: 49
Page: 24
Household schedule number: 108
Note that Samuel's wife's name is Fanny, the same as one of Ann's daughters -- a good sign that this could be the right family.

Anne,
Out of curiosity, I looked up Grace WALL in 1901 and found her there with her daughter, Clara, and a niece, Emma ROSE, aged 13. Backtracking to 1891, I located Emma with her mother and father, Elizabeth and Herbert ROSE, living at Diamond Court in Bakewell:
Name / Age / Birthplace / Relationship / Occupation
Rose, Herbert 26 Bakewell, Derbyshire Head Ostler
Rose, Elizabeth 24 Bakewell, Derbyshire Wife
Rose, Clara 6 Bakewell, Derbyshire Daughter
Rose, Emma 3 Bakewell, Derbyshire Daughter
Rose, Thomas W 1 Bakewell, Derbyshire Son
The family living next door must be somehow connected to your BLAGDENs as well... maybe 7-year-old Joseph is Grace's natural son:
Name / Age / Birthplace / Relationship / Occupation
Bradbury, Samuel 48 Bakewell, Derbyshire Head Labourer on Local Board
Bradbury, Martha 46 Baslow, Derbyshire Wife
Marsden, Oscar 19 Bakewell, Derbyshire Adopted Son Labourer on Local Board
Wall, Joseph 7 Bakewell, Derbyshire Adopted Son
Blagden, William 48 Baslow, Derbyshire Brother-in-law Mason's Labourer
