John LODGE & Mary POWELL,Uley 1794

John LODGE & Mary POWELL married 16 July 1794 at ULEY PC.They had nine children who were all baptised in the Church.My problem is to find out who are the parents of this couple.John LODGE was not baptised in Uley but there are to possible baptisms for him on the IGI...19 May 1765 Mitcheldean & 3 April 1768 Huntley.I have checked the marriage details of both sets of parents who were married by Licence.I have the details from both Licences and that does not help to determine which of these sets of parents (if any) are John LODGE's.
There were three Mary POWELLs baptised in Uley PC at about the same time
June 2 1773
Mar 14 1774
29 May 1774

If any one can throw any light on this subject I would be grateful.

In order to narrow your choices have you checked the burial register to see if any of the three Mary POWELLs died as an infant, this was very common.

As yet no....this is my first real crack at Mary POWELLs parents.I have been more interested in the LODGE line up till now.

These are the Children of John & Mary LODGE,at least ,those that I know of.They were all baptised in Uley.Some I have traced,some I have not.
James 1794 John 1798 Joseph 1799 Mary 1803 William 1804 Sarah 1808 Thomas 1810 Charles 1812 and George 1813.
Other than their baptisms I know nothing about James Joseph Sarah and George.John senior was a seedsman and by 1928 had made his way to Manchester.William and Charles went also,Mary who married a Mr Powell (don't know where,don't know when) was there (as a widow) in 1851.John junior was in Monmouthshire by the early 1820's.Thomas stayed in Gloucestershire.
