william branson wed rachel ann holmes in 1918 many children followed but cannot find linda she was supposed to have died in nottingham during the war.tried looking on freebmd but cannot find anything after 1929.any help would be appreciated

FreeBMD is an ongoing work - and at present the coverage seems to run up to around the late 1920s. Some areas are a little further on, others less so. Which explains why you cannot find details for a death later than 1929.
You would need to look at a full index to locate the death - apart from the pay for sites, your local Family History Society HQ or even your local library may have access to those. Many public libraries in the UK have free access to one of the large pay for sites which may be worth a look.

I have just searched the birth and death index for 1930 to 1945 and the only births with mother's maiden name of Holmes were Percy [March 1933] Gerald [ dec 1934] Doris M.[Sept 1936] and Iris B.[June 1941] all registered in Nottingham. The only Linda was a Linda J [mother's name MAWBY] in Leics.
No death record for Linda either,sorry.
