Hi I am interested in 130 Brighton Road Great Crosby around 1917, is it possible to find out who was living there from 1915 o-1917
Beatrice Jackson(Nee Orme Roberts) was living there on 22 May 1917 and stayed there until at least October 1917, I would like to try and discover when she arrived there, I know her family had links with that particular road going back 30 years or so.
Thanks for any info or pointers you can give me
Kate
my great grandfather lived in this road around this time (1901-1930s} and was married to an emily orme, here family also lived on this street parents elizabeth and joseph orme and eight children as of the 1881 census. Maybe they were related to beatrice?

Directories found in record centres might br your best bet. Archve CD Books sell some from around this period, click on http://www.rod-neep.co.uk/acatalog/lan-directories.html
and of course, at the moment everything is half price

Hi Kate,
You may be in luck, in that this area is covered by Liverpool & SW Lancs FHS.
I'm not a member of the group (I'm a Hertfordshire Stray up here in Manchester), but I do know that they are particularly active - maybe because their area encompasses the GRO offices in Southport.
The front page of their website is pretty nifty :)
And if there isn't a local link between the Surname Orme, and the town of Ormskirk, I'll eat my copy of Reaney with chips and gravy
