I am trying to trace Thomas EVANS, his parents were Morgan and Kath, (Catherine) EVANS.
I know is that Thomas has two siblings, a Brother Morgan and a Sister Mary.
This does not mean that he didn't have other siblings as they could have died.
Thomas was born about 1824, could be later or earlier.
Dates are different on the different documents I have on him.
But I would say he was born between 1820 and 1826.
He was convicted in Denbigh for stealing a mare, he arrived in Tasmania in 1851 aboard the Convict ship "Nile".
I have his conviction and records from Denbigh and also his information in Tasmania.
But thus far have been unable to find out any information on Thomas in Newport, Monmouthshire.
I cannot find a Morgan and a Catherine Evans on the 1841 Census.
Have found a couple of Morgans but they were in Bristol and could have been the son..
The name MORGAN, was used for all of his children either as a second name or a third
name.
He really didn't give much info of where he actually came from, just gave his native place as Newport, saying also that his Mother and siblings were still at his native place.
As his father Morgan is not mentioned on his convict record here in Tasmania.
He must have died before Thomas arrived.
Usually names are given on living parents and siblings only.
His fathers name Morgan was given on his marriage certificate in Denbigh.
Can anyone help me find Thomas and his family in Newport Mon Please
