John Hill (b c1844 in Harford)) is shown on the 1881 Census as a Gunner's Mate aboard the "Royal Adelaide" at Devonport. He is also shown as living with his wife Sarah (b c1846 in Plymouth), and children John (b c1872), Thomas (b c1874) & Laura Edith (b c1879) - children all born in Plymouth.
Does John (& perhaps Sarah) appear on the 1871 Census, either in Devon or perhaps as Royal Navy? (we already have him on the 1891 & 1901 Censuses as a Naval Pensioner.,
Any info gratefully received,
Regards, Pete & Sylvia
