Caroline Eldridge b 1826 Whelpley Hill, Chesham
and her husband Francis
The married in 1848 Aston Clinton and then 'vanished'

I have searched Ancestry for Caroline under Eldridge, Elridge, Ellridge and Eldridg but can not pick her up.

The 1871 is not fully loaded or as you say she may well have "disappeared".

many thanks for your time, I know now she had died and I think shortly after her marriage as there are no children. I have now found her husband in 1871 as a widower but under the name Frances Eldridge and not too far away. I still have to find her death to confirm though.
