Has anyone got a Thomas Beaumont WRIGHT in their households in either the 1891 or 1901 census?

He married Alice Houghton HART, my 2xgt-grandfather's sister, in 1887 but was not at home for either of the censuses that were taken before his death in 1905 at the age of 66. I discovered on his widow's death certificate that he was a Brewer's Traveller, which may explain why he was away from home but doesn't help me any in finding him.

I would be glad of any help I can get on this. |banghead|

Thanks.

Welcome to the British-Genealogy forums, I hope that you get some assistance in your research. It may help others to help you, or to at last point you in the right direction if you could provide a rough location where your WRIGHT and HART families lived.

Good luck

Thomas is shown as being born in various places in Warwickshire, depending on which census you are looking at. When he was in his teens the family moved to Birmingham.

The Hart family are from Leicestershire. Alice Houghton was born in Welby, a village which is now part of Melton Mowbray. She was a school teacher, I assume up until her marriage, but after this time she is described as a farmer and has a property called Red Lodge at Halstead, next door to her brother Jasper Houghton Hart, who farmed at Stone Lodge, Halstead.

Thomas and Alice were married at Loughborough in 1887.

Thomas died in 1905 aged 66 and Alice died in 1937 aged 95.
