Hi
Does anyone have any information on the coastguards of Falmouth Cornwall in The 1800's.
My relative served as a coastguard there in those days. I would like to know where he worked from, the location if possible , just about anything.
His name was John BENNETT
thanks Colin Bennett

You don't mention roughly when in the 19th century he served, which would have helped...........Could this search result on TNA's catalogue (http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/searchresults.asp?SearchInit=0&txtsearchterm=john+bennett+AND+coastguard&txtfirstdate=&txtlastdate=&txtrestriction=ADM&hdnsorttype=Reference&image1.x=38&image1.y=17)relate to him?
TNA's research guide on Coastguards (http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/RdLeaflet.asp?sLeafletID=54) should give you some more ideas as to where to look for information
