Any information on Uniform

This is a picture of my great grandfather. The photo was taken at some point during world war 2 so 1939-1945

I know this picture was taking (as my grandmother told me) "In the desert", can we relalise any information from the uniform he is wearing to which regiment he was in during the war.

Any info would be great

It is probably Africa, if desert was involved, though one would expect him to be in shorts. The slouch hat was worn in the Burma campaigns too.

Do you have any medals? you may be able to get a service number from them.

I hope some one will recognize the uniform for you.
