Hi there
Does anyone know anything about Harry Hastings Sidebottom who owned a house The Orchard, The Avenue in Hale pre and post war.
He had a domestic working for him (my grandmother) around the late 1930's possibly into the 40's. I think he was born in 1875 and if i have the correct one was married to Clara Rose Simons, he was a produce broker in Manchester 37 County Buildings, 4 Cannon Street, his buisness address but lived in Hale. I am trying to find out which years my grandmother worked there and for how long, i do not think i can do this on the cencus as it is in th 30's-40's and am not sure how otherwise to go about it, i believe the electrol register may be a possibility where would this be held for me to check?
