Hugh many thanks for your reply, as you can see grandfathers name was William Arthur and I do believe he lived and died in Albert park Melbourne Victoria not NSW.I know his children could have moved on but the middle names dont match.
Do you know if there is any way i could search the BMD for Victoria on the web.
once again thanks for your reply

Hi Tom,I've never had to use Victorian BDM's,I think the Victorian Department of Justice looks like the site address, https://online.justice.vic.gov.au/bdm/home#search
The records for births stop at 1907 so it's more than likely of no use to you anyway, there are quite a few Victorians on this forum who should be able to help you out.Sorry I couldn't be of help Hugh.

His death certificate will record the names and ages of any children - if known by the informant.
If the fellow below does not match, I will check the index cd. The Albert Park death does not appear to be him as that one was born about 1871 (unless you mean he died before 1921) This one is closer in age.
Victoria, Australia
HARRISON, William Arthur P
Father: Henry
Mother: Louise POOLMAN
Death Place: WIND
died aged 71, in 1954
Reg Number: 12353

I see that Florence died at Albert Park in 1950.
HARRISON, Florence
Father: Campion Uk
Mother: Isobel UK
Death Place: ALBT PK
died aged 67, in 1950
Reg Number: 7381
Now on looking at the marriage entry, the death that I have given you is for a William Arthur Poolman , born here in Victoria, and married 1905.
I searched the cd for births from 1902 - 1920, no children registered in Victoria.
the Albert Park death

Hi Christine
many many thanks, This looks very promising the names and dates of the Memorial graves 5501 fits very well,
William Arthur reg.12566 also loooks good his father was also William and his mother was Mary Hughes. His age of 95 at death means he was b1873 when in fact he was b 1883.for some reason he added 10 years to his age?
In 1923 he returned to england during his visit he made contact with his siblings Frederick being only 15 years old returned to Melbourne with him and Florence on board the Ship Largs Bay.On the passenger list his age was 50 making his year of birth 1873.
I am a bit disapointed they had no children I thought i may have some aussie relatives.
Frederick lived with them untill he married aged 40 to Noreen Lynch verified by his death cert.
Florence who died in 1950 do you know her fathers given name ?
once again Many Thanks

The death reg matches the burial exactly - sorry, I should have put their ages - the burial record matches the ages on the death registrations. You would be wondering how I was so confident on it being the last one. That record is in the cemetery online database.
Apparently the informant did not know the details of Florence's parents, just her maiden name.
If you wish to confirm he is your man - the marriage certificate will give their parents names , including mother's maiden names. Will also confirm his age - somewhere he has lost track of his age. Marriage reg number is 6732, if you should want to get it, but it looks pretty certain he is your man since you have that personal knowledge of his movements.
I just checked the reverse marriage entry - Florence was born in Melbourne.
She must be this one, no other choices to 1888.
birth Victoria
CAMPION, Ethel Florence
Father: Frederick Geor
Mother: Isabella TUCKER
Birth Place: MELB
Year: 1882
Reg Number: 24365
Frederick George CAMPION (born London) married Harriet Ambrosine Isabella CAMPBELL (born Melbourne) in Victoria 1871, reg: 2353. I found her having some children as early as 1864 in Melbourne with Charles James Robert CAMPBELL, but not their marriage, nor her baptism pre 1853/or birth.
