|wave|Please is anyone visiting Hereford Record Office.
I am trying to link up two branches of Lloyd familes living in Ledgemoor.
This is Kings Pyon Parish Herefordshire.
Thomas Lloyd and Sarah Lilwal were married in Staunton on Arrow on 5 July 1846. I do not have a GRO reference for this marriage.
However, if anyone is visiting Hereford RO I would be most grateful if they could look this marriage up and note any other details. Fathers names and occupations and witnesses, etc.
Likewise George Lloyd was married to Susan Ross in Kings Pyon on 23 August 1840 ( GRO ref. Sept Qtr 1840 Weobley Vol 26 page 267 )
Please can anyone visiting Hereford RO look up this marriage also.
If the Lloyd father's are the same for both marriages then maybe there is a connection.
George Lloyd died in the 1850's and Susan Lloyd remarried William Bennett a widower at Hereford Register Office on 6 March 1861. ( ref. March qtr 1861 Hereford Vol. 6a page 658 )
I would welcome any further information about these families.
Best Regards, SloopJB. |wave|

It looks like the marriage has Sarah's surname recorded as Litwal or Litwat.
If you want to order a copy of the certificate, I would suggest that you order it just using Thomas' name and the following reference:
July to September, 1846, Presteigne District, volume 26, page 379

You can also order the parish registers of Kings Pyon to view in situ at your local LDS Family History Centre for a small fee and browse over them at your leisure.

I would agree with Jan aka The daft bat, regarding the reference for John and Sarah's wedding

Thanks guys.
All we need now is for some kind soul who is visiting the Hereford Record Office to have a look for the marriages for me.
I am hoping the witnesses and father's names will tie both families together.
Thanks again, SloopJB. :)

Thanks Sue.
I visited Ledgemoor and Weobley when I was over that way on business some months ago and everyone was so friendly and helpful.
It is a wonderful place to live in terms of the scenery and the people.

Thanks Vici1
Hope your father is better.
I agree about the Lilwal. I had assumed this was the spelling, but did not know it was a local place name. However it is always best to keep an open mind if only because spellings vary so much even within the same family.
Found a Thomas died Kings Pyon 10 Feb 1890 age 68 so would be born from 11 Feb 1821 and would possibly be 40 at time of 1861 census.
Also George Lloyd died 28 Nov. 1853 aged 43 at Kings Pyon.
These could well be the Thomas and George whose marriages I am seeking to find amongst other things details of their fathers.
If so there may be Christenings listed approx. 1810 and 1821/22.
Don't worry if you do not have time at present to visit.
I am sure someone will take up the batton even if you can't.
I find these things do get done eventually.
All the best, SloopJB.
