My husband's grandfather , Percy Claridge, owned a house known as
Fosseway House here from 1910-1948 approx. I can find it anywhere recorded now. It was a very large country house - perhaps had change of use. Does anyone know the area and can help??

Hi jollylynda,
Would you recognise it if you saw it? There are several large houses locally, some of them leftovers of Pipe Manor of Burntwood. However there is one on Fosseway Lane, Pipe Hill that is a possibility. Does it look familiar?

my husband thinks it was grey stone, a very big garden backing on to a canal/railway. He was 6 when last visited in 1948!!
Many thanks for your help.

The railway is about 500 metres behind this house.
