I am trying to find out what happened to my Grandmother's brother, Albert Edward Bristow. I've been able to find him up to the 1891 census and then he seem to disappear. He lived in Uxbridge in 1881 & 1891. I can't find him in the 1901 census. I have a picture of him with a football league (Hull & District Senior League Winners 1897-98). I also know that he married Elizabeth Bird in 1909. I have a letter he wrote in 1918 with a return address of 18 John Street, Hylton, Sunderland (in which he mentioned a young daughter but no name). That's it. I'm curious as to whether he had any more kids and whether I may have some ancestors still in UK. Does anyone have any ideas where I should go from here?

There are several possibles, it is far more of a common name than I would have thought.
Could you give us any idea of his year of birth or his place of birth in order to help us search. What does it say in the census you have found and can we have the references.;) Who are his parents?

FreeBMD lists the following births of BRISTOW children where the mother's maiden name was BIRD. The mother's maiden name was only included in the indexes in 1911 so there might have been an earlier child.
George BRISTOW registered Sleaford Dec qtr 1912 7a/805
Charlotte BRISTOW registered Sleaford Jun qtr 1918 7a/630
Dorothy BRISTOW registered Sleaford Jun qtr 1920 7a/924

Golly, I'm sorry I didn't add more info! Here's what I know:
Born c. 1872 in Uxbridge
Parents: Matilda (Grove) & Albert Bristow
Parents are in Bromley, Kent in the 1881 census with their other children (incl. my Grandmother Emily)
In the 1881 census, Albert is living with his uncles and grandparents in Uxbridge (the Groves - Thomas & Lucy). He is shown as "nephew" (don't know why he wasn't with parents).
In 1891 census, I'm pretty sure he is the Albert Bristowe shown in Uxbridge because the Groves are on the same street.
Can't find him in 1901 and the only other info I have is the football picture in 1897, the marriage in 1909, and the 1918 letter.
Looking forward to any help you can give me.....thank you!
