Can some knowledgeable person tell me how much of the Leicester city parishes information in included in the IGI?

I'm drawing a blank with my TRESSLER/TRASLER research and wonder if there is more info out there I can't access from here in New Zealand...

Happy hunting,
Delwyn

Hi Delwyn,

I am afraid I can't answer your question but are you aware of FreeREG (http://www.freereg.org.uk/) an ongoing project which may help you.

GENUKUI is always a good place to check what is covered by the IGI, and also what other resources are available.

As well, all filmed records of parish registers that are held by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are not in the IGI - it is only an index of their religious activities. Check their online catalogue, if you wish you can get films into their nearest Family History centre for a small fee, and free use of their viewers.

Try Hugh Wallis' website http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers.htm

It is not always up to date, but it will give you a fair idea.
