I've been attempting to trace my Grandfather Joseph Homer born 21.11.1910 in Providence Street Tipton England.

His father was Edward Homer born in Tipton abt 1871 (coal miner) and his mother was a Sarah Annie Jukes born abt 1873 in Dudley.

He married a Hannah Hadley in 1930 having 5 children Ron,Gordon Rita(twins), Geff and Patricia (my mother). Hannah sadly died of TB in 1949. Hannahs father was George Harry Hadley (tube metal fitter) born abt 1885 in Rowley Regis and her mother Selina Owen born abt 1885.

Joseph served in the Royal Engineers and Royal Pioneer Corps, army no.1948506 during the 2nd World War and we think he saw service in France and Belgium.

After the war he never returned home( demobbed 1948) and heresay said he'd met someone in Belgium moved there and remarried (without a divorce) having two girls. This is only hearsay and he could have lived and died in England.

I have promised my Uncle to attempt to find more information if I can. My Uncle has spent most of his life searching for him and he is 77 and in ill health and would love to put this to rest.

I know it's a real long shot but can anyone help? Any idea where to go to trace deaths abroad?

I have more information on Josephs family if required.
