Hi everyone,
I have been searching my tree for about 2 years now and have had a lot of setbacks along the way!!!
Because my mother grandad and great grandmother lived in north wales i always presumed that was where my roots lay, so i was searching for north wales for about a year to no avail until a kind lady from another site found some of my family on the census for cheshire!!!!
A word of warning for anyone researching davis/davies some of the certificates i have received are davis and some are davies!!!! sent me crackers at times but i was informed by a registrar that names often get changed as some people could not read or write.
The name griffiths relates to my great grandmother marrying a griffiths which i have still some researching to do.
my grandfather had no fathers name on his birth certificate and it states his name as frederick edward davies (otherwise) griffiths!
So anyone with any davis/davies/griffiths ancestry please get in touch there maybe a link!!|banghead||biggrin|
wishing all of you great success in your searches,

Hello alij123 and welcome to Brit-Gen |wave|

Have a good old poke around and post those questions on the appropriate boards. We will all pitch in to help you sort out your Davis and Davies lines, not to mention those Griffiths...

Have fun!

Welcome to the Forum,

I have Davis (Mum's Baptism), Davies (Mum's birth) so I know what you mean. However, mine ended up in Ireland so if yours head that way and then bounce back, let me know;)

Good Luck with your searching.
