introducing my convict relative

i thought i would introduce the convict in my family his name was henry platt and he was in millbank prison in london in 1851 the prison no longer there .is there anyway to find out what he had done?

The National Archives should be able to help.

The Registers of Prisoners (http://yourarchives.nationalarchives.gov.uk/index.php?title=Calendars_of_Prisoners%2C_Prison_R egisters_and_Prison_Returns_in_The_National_Archiv es) for Millbank Prison for 1843-1874 appear to be in section HO24 and for 1837-1878 they are in PCOM2
