Hi all
I've just joined the forum this afternoon. I've been looking into my family history for many years on and off, and picked up the pace when more information became available electronically. This is the first forum I've joined.
My family have been Londoners since the last quarter of the 19th century or earlier. My four grandparents were Price (never had much luck tracing that branch), Mitchell (traced back to Belfast), Richardson (traced back to Gosberton, Lincolnshire), and Flatman (traced back to Redgrave, Suffolk).
My current interest is in my grandfather Thomas Tilley Richardson (b.8/1/1874, d.26/2/1929) who I've tentatively traced to Ashford, Kent in 1901 (wrong place of birth on census return, but otherwise OK) where he and 2-3 of his brothers were fishmongers. I've a 14 year gap between then and when he married my grandmother. In that period he apparently became a widower (first wife Ellen) and possibly a father, of Rose - his surviving children know almost nothing of either of them.
Always looking for more information, and happy to share what I've found.
Regards
Jim
