I have a Anne WEST in my family who I haven't been about to track down much information on. The only thing I haven't done which I know I could do, is request a copy of her marriage cert.

I have her son's birth certificate which contains her maiden name as WEST. There is a marriage record for Anne West and Henry Johnson in Southwark in 1850, which is possible but seems strange that both being from Buckinghamshire they marry in London.

She was born in about 1816 (1851 census, so accuracy not very good) in Brill, Buckinghamshire (1851 census again). Anne has possibly died by 1861 where Henry is now married to Fanny.

Other than requesting the marriage cert, and continuing my search on the 1841 census, which has so far proved unsuccessful, is there anything else I could try?

There is a marriage record for Anne West and Henry Johnson in Southwark in 1850, which is possible but seems strange that both being from Buckinghamshire they marry in London. I have had a look at the 1851 census entry and, as Henry's occupation is recorded as Grocer and they are both from Buckinghamshire, also find it odd that they would travel to Southwark to marry.

Henry's trade does not immediately lend itself to uprooting, in fact I would have thought that he would have stayed where he was to reinforce trade.

She was born in about 1816 (1851 census, so accuracy not very good) in Brill, Buckinghamshire (1851 census again). Long Crendon (where thay are in 1851) and Brill are less than 5 miles apart, both falling into the Aylesbury registration district.

Other than requesting the marriage cert, and continuing my search on the 1841 census, which has so far proved unsuccessful, is there anything else I could try? Traditionally, but not always, a couple married in the bride's parish. Have you checked the Brill parish records?

there is this on freebmd

Deaths Jun 1859
JOHNSON Ann Aylesbury 3a 261

(the only Ann Johnson between 1851-61 in Aylesbury district)

and this

Marriages Dec 1859
Blake Benjamin Thame 3a 923
DEELEY Eliza Thame 3a 923
Johnson Henry Thame 3a 923
Syred Fanny Thame 3a 923

Thame reg district is near Aylesbury (next door? it's a long time since I lived in that part of the world) and this is the only marriage that fits the criteria between 1857 - 61
