Tom
Have check WOR 1851 no John or Mary POSTINS listed in Index of 1851 Transcript, have also tried variations of the name.

In the 1851 Index for STS I found this reference in Wolverhampton,

Piece 2017
Folios 263 & 264

Unfortunately the STS Index does not give forenames.

Hi Lottie.
Many thanks for looking for John and Mary Postins, I have them on the 1871 census RG10/3025. They are shown living with a John Postins age 56, whom I think is young Johns father, residing at Bellvue, in the village of Wordsley, parish if Kingswinford. I also have what I believe is the 1861 census, RG 09-2069, showing a John Postins wife Mary and a daughter Rosa also living in Bellvue.Reg Dist, Stourbridge, Sub Dist, Kingswinford, village of Wordsley. but not a sign of young John who would then be 16 years old. Could you please have a look and see where I am going wrong, as I would appreciate your help very much, thats if you dont mind.

Best Regards Tom.

Tom
I have checked the entry for POSTINS in 1861 Census RG9/2069 and the detail you have is correct. John is not present. Perhaps John jnr was working away from home !

The Transcript of WOR 1851 Census does not include POSTINS in Kingswinford.
The piece no is HO107/2035 - I do not own the scans of the iriginal pages so cannot check to see if family missed off the transcript.
Perhaps someone else can help you!

Happy Hunting

Hi Lottie,
Thanks for all your help in the past, I will now try a 1851 staffordshire look on the staffs board. John Postins was born circa 1805 so I should be able to get some help in finding him. I wish you a good new year and thank you again.
Best Regards Tom.
