My great.great Grandmother was Elizabeth PRATT (nee Daniels) b.1846-1882/3. Wife of Wm. PRATT b.1846. There is a gravestone in a church at Leighton Buzzard but don't know which church. Can anyone help? I'm also interested in contacting family members.Leighton Buzzard family surnames are PRATT.DANIELS,SAMUEL(S) and SMALLBONES.

Hello again Janet,

Now, there are a couple of ways that we can try to find the gravestone.

First, you need to identify exactly when Elizabeth died. I have found a death for an Elizabeth Pratt registered in the Leighton Buzzard district in the June quarter of 1882 (volume 3b, page 228). The certificate may be ordered from the GRO (http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/) - follow the links on the left of the page.

This will then provide the date of death and you could have a look for an obituary in the Leighton Buzzard Observer (http://www.mediauk.com/newspapers/41540/leighton-buzzard-observer). They have a contact address and may be able to check their archives.

Failing that, the Bedfordshire Records Office (http://www.bedfordshire.gov.uk/CommunityAndLiving/ArchivesAndRecordOffice/ArchivesAndRecordOffice.aspx) may be able to help with newspaper look-ups. Hopefully, there will be a mention of the funeral and where it was held.

Hello Janet
I am new to this forum and have just seen your post. I am looking for Elizabeth Daniels in Leighton Buzzard but she married a Gibbins. Mine didn't actually come from L/Buzzard but I am not sure of her ancestry. Her mother may have been Mary J Daniels from Middlesex. I am not sure if this is her married name, or not! Do you have any other facts to go on?

Have you got any dates? The only Elizabeth Daniels/Gibbins marriage I can see on www.freebmd.org.uk was in 1908 in Northampton. Is this yours? Have you got the marriage certificate which will give fathers' names?

Thats the one I want, am waiting for the certificate to prove parentage of Elizabeth. They were living in Leighton Buzzard from about 1930 onwards.

My Elizabeth Daniels was born 1846 married Wm. Pratt born 1846.Her father was Wm. Daniels born 1824 (marine store dealer from Stamford area) married
Sarah Brandon/or Brandom born 1823. Wm. Daniel's father was John Daniels born 1800 married Elizabeth ?
