Family history has it that my mother's uncle, Richard Charles Schroeder, was injured while down the pit in Wales during WW1. We believe he was in hospital in Tredegar or Bedwelty for a number of years until he died without ever leaving hospital. We have a photograph of him in his hospital bed but no more information. Does anyone know the name of a hospital in those areas which may be the one I'm looking for?
Many thanks.

Tredegar General Hospital may be the place, about half-way down the page
his death certificate would confirm where he died

Thanks Annie, I've just read the info about Tredegar itself - an interesting place.
If my uncle died in Wales where would I be able to get a copy of his death certificate, do you know?

BMDs for England and Wales are indexed together, so copies can be obtained from GRO or the local record offices.
