I have just discovered an entry for an ANN COLCUT birth - 18 Dec. 1796 - mother - Mary ? - Father William COLCUT - Could some kind soul see if there was a marriage between these two & any other information regarding this family. Any help would be much appreciated.

From the OFHS's Oxfordshire Marriage Index (1538-1837):

20 DEC 1784 - William COLCOT to Mary BRAIN at Gt. Tew

This is the only marriage for a William COLCUT (or variants) + Mary, the date looks OK, and Gt. Tew is an adjacent parish to Enstone! (The Enstone PRs may include a little more information, eg. witnesses.)

Hope this helps you.

The marriage register transcript of Great Tew is not a lot of help re Witnesses. The witnesses are William SNELSON, Sarah SNELSON and what looks like Elizabeth SNELSON and they seem to be professional witnesses and appear on a lot of the marriage records.

The only CALCOT (and variants) baptism at Enstone is that of Ann in 1796. However, there are the following baptisms at Great Tew:

27 March 1785 Richard CALCUTT son of William & Mary
13 May 1787 William COLCOT son William & Mary
23 October 1789 Mary CALCUT daughter William & Mary
1 December 1796 Ann CALCUTT daughter William & Mary

There is a burial on 7 March 1819 of William CALCOT, aged 61, of Great Tew.

There is also a baptism on 10 December 1758 of a Mary BRAIN daughter William & Ria. No baptism of William COLCOT at Great Tew. The baptism of Ann at Enstone is on 18 December 1796 daughter William & Mary. No COLCUT burials or marriages at Enstone.
